As of the time I am writing this post we are currently 82 days away from leaving for Honduras. If you haven’t heard, my wife and I will be traveling to Honduras this summer to support a ministry called, “Grower’s First.” Click here to find out more details about the trip.
We wanted to give you an update on our preparations, which are coming together slowly, but nevertheless, are coming together. Our team is shaping up and we have already had multiple meetings to grow together and begin preparing for the trip. Within the next week we are expecting to purchase our plane tickets. This is an exciting but scary step, once the plane tickets are purchased there is no looking back. We have had a few support checks come in, which we are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our friends and family. If you are one of those who have given to us...Thank you!
As the trip draws near, Lindsey and I have been growing in excitement at the possibility of serving together on a mission trip. Both of us have had experience on mission trips but never had the opportunity to serve together. Before we were married, we would often talk about what our lives would look like together as a married couple. We would laugh and dream and consider all the possibilities of what our life together would look like. But one of the common themes to always came up was our desire to view our marriage as a ministry together. To live together in a way that God could use us in spreading the Gospel. And one of our specific hopes was to be able to go on mission trips together. We hope that our marriage can be built around God’s purposes, to be an encouragement to others and for us to draw closer toward the heart of God as we seek to give of our time, resources, and love for God and others.
Enter Honduras2013...For us, this marks a significant opportunity to take steps toward the marriage we had talked about. It is an intentional step forward as we continue to trust each other and God deeper, as we step out of our comfort zones, and serve God in a new way. A step toward living our life together not for ourselves but embodying the love of Jesus to those in need.
We would love your support in our journey. We are looking to build a support team around us who would consider lifting our team, Lindsey and myself up in prayer. And also we are looking for a team to support us financially. We have currently raised $550, but need $1800 to cover all trip expenses. Would you consider supporting either by prayer, financially, or both? Click here to read our “support letter” which contains more specific details.
Thank you all for your consideration in supporting us, it is incredibly appreciated!
